Newtown Twist

I think the waistcoat adds a nice touch/twist to this simple outfit.

Unplugged Accessorized

This tin belongs to the guy, from the previous post, that I found in Unplugged. He uses it as a cigarette box, so I'm not sure if it was intended for this use or if it's just an arb tin he found and decided to use to hold his cigarettes. Regardless it reminds me of why I love this place. You find people taking the most random items and using them for purposes other than what they were intended for. Imaginative purpose, this is what I consider to be creativity!

Unplugged

I found this guy at Unplugged, on 7th Ave, in Meliville. I'm really diggin' the whole preppy/alternative mix! Shot on you mate!

Lessons Learnt

On Thursday, I took a night out with my cousin to one of the hubs of creative expression in Johannesburg, Melville. An obvious site for a diversity of fashion, I managed to come across a few people that I potentially wanted to feature in my blog, however despite this ‘success’ I was about to learn, what I find to be, an important lesson. Although some people may look great to the naked eye, once translated onto my digicam, it’s becomes a different story. Nonetheless, all the people I feature here do not suffer that problem. Despite horrible lighting, a wobbly hand or whatever other obstacle that may arise, the idea behind their outfits still manages to shine through. However, I do plan to work on my photographic skills so that I will not have to exclude some people due to my drunken camera, and novice photographic abilities.

Just Because

On this day I was feeling black and white. However, the previous week, I had purchased the green sandals, and I felt like wearing them too, so I combined them with the outfit just for a touch of colour.

Big mistake though, I kind of wore white underwear with a white top. OOOPSY!!!

Ladies Night

These three young women have always inspired me, since our days at university. Without fail, whenever I would see them on campus, they always looked good, were on point, and expressed themselves confidently through their clothing. I caught them at the beginning of their evening this day, and they gladly obliged to pose for this photo.

I reiterate that I am not a professional photographer but what's important is that you are able to see the overall idea. I really love the way they mix looks, from vintage, to corporate, to straight street/urban etc.

Keep it up ladies! Think you'll be a main feature in my blog...

Pholas on a Sat

I woke up on this Saturday feeling Asian inspired; so I put on my 'kung fu' pants (well, I refer to them as my kung fu pants), added the peach/pink top, and finished the outfit off with the obi belt. I enjoyed this outit because it was comfortable enough for a chilled day with my parents...
